The Java Hut Espresso Company Inc. was established and is owned by four family members.

The first store opened in 1993 in Surrey, British Columbia. The company currently has six company owned and two franchise locations in the Vancouver Area. Corporate plans are to franchise all of the locations and open at least two new locations per year.

The Java Hut team presently has over 50 employees. The sales have continued to grow from $133,000 in 1994 to over $3,000,000 in 2000.

Training

The company has a comprehensive training and support program which it provides to franchise and staff. After training a new franchisee can begin operations of his/her store quickly, smoothly and with confidence. Training for franchisees takes place in the Companies training center in Cloverdale, BC. Some hands on training is done in individual stores.

Management

The Java Hut Company has an experienced and proven management team providing management in all area of operations and training. Together with carefully chosen associates they are deeply involved in site identifications, store construction, franchise sales and marketing.

Franchising

The purchase price for a Java Hut turn key franchise location including; tenant improvements, franchise fee, and development costs, inventory and equipment will range from $185,000 to $350,000 depending on location and size of store. Ongoing royalties are 9% of gross sales conducted from the franchise premises. And advertising fee of 1% of gross sales is charged to contribute to a company wide advertising fund. Java Hut management administers this fund on behalf of the franchisees.

Product and Supplies

The company supplies each location whether self-owned or franchise with fresh bakery and food supplies and company specific supplies such as cups, napkins, flavored syrups and coffee. All these supplies are attractively packaged, carry the Java Hut logo and are delivered fresh daily. Generic items such as cleaning supplies, brand name drinks and juices are purchased directly by each store from suppliers indicated by the company. Java Hut purchases only the best coffee beans to bulk ingredients. Their large purchasing power allows them to offer you the best service and lowest price in the industry.
